How cool would it be to wake up tomorrow, head to your closet to get dressed, and… pull on a loose-fitting t-shirt? (Cue the opening notes of “If I Were a Boy.”) Maybe you normally only wear one when you’re relaxing at home or going to sleep, but what about making an oversize tee glam for day (or night)?
Nowadays, it’s pretty much the norm to see trendsetters and street-style mavens alike mixing oversize t-shirts with skirts, red lips and look-at-me heels, leather jackets, you name it. (Also, see here: the ultimate cool-girl tee.)
If you’ve got a non-uniform, creative kind of work environment, t-shirts can be acceptable there too.
The trick to making it work for you? Get a good quality cotton tee with a fun saying or gorgeous print (I got this one from blogger Sincerely Jules’s site on sale over the holidays) and pair it with dressy pieces like a blazer and faux leather leggings.
If you’re feeling bold, tuck it into a pencil skirt for work or do the half-in-half-out tuck with dark-rinse, high-waisted denim for a night out. Layer on some gold necklaces and all of a sudden your t-shirt is all chic!
