When it's crazy cold and you *must* step outside, it can be hard to put together a cool outfit, let alone a sexy one. In the spring and summer, my go-to is a tee and jeans, so, shocker, my go-to in the winter is a sweatshirt and jeans. Especially one with pom-poms, a clever phrase or a cool lace-up design. 😋 But for date night? I'm all about stepping things up a bit, but staying warm and cozy is, TBH, most important for me. So I don't stray too far from my staples—I just look for flirty details. A sweatshirt, sexy? Trust.
Cold-shoulder cutouts are an easy, wearable way to dress up your look. There's just something really pretty about showing off your collarbone and shoulders.
The rules of wearing a sweatshirt out? There really aren't any (especially when the cold weather is an issue). I stuck to mostly solid colors in the ones I linked below, since clean styles without a ton of extra details tend to read dressier. Solid colors are simply more wearable and versatile. Feel free to go with patterns, graphics, funny phrases, too! I would probably wear this sweatshirt with jeans and black boots. Super simple. Maybe dust a little glitter powder on my shoulders. 😉
Of course, the power of your allure is about a lot more than showing skin (at least in my mind). So I've linked a variety of sweatshirts below, from a crewneck in black (always, always chic) to an embellished bird design to a cropped swingy one. Whatever your style, I hope you find a sweatshirt that speaks to you (hello, there!) or inspires you to try something new (for date night and otherwise!).
This sweatshirt is by Sincerely Jules, on major sale right now (similar, similar). A few other cool styles: crewneck, ruffled hem, beaded birds, cropped swing hem, off-the-shoulder, ivory relaxed fit and one-shoulder cutout.
The ribbon hair tie is by J.Crew (similar) and the jeans are Madewell (similar).
Cheers to date nights where you feel sexy and confident (and warm) just as you are!
Heather xoxo
P.S. For when the weather is below freezing and you're dreaming of balmy summer nights...
